About Me
I was born in Logan, Utah, but have lived in Herriman and Riverton, Utah for most of my life.
I have always loved to learn and solve problems. When I was young, I took piano lessons and competed on the local USA swim team. I attended Herriman High School and Salt Lake Community College concurrently.
While I was in high school, I swam on the swim team. During swim season for four years, I woke up at 4:30 am for morning
practice and attended practice after school. The events I swam were the 200 IM (arguably the hardest event in high school swimming), 100 Backstroke, 100 Breaststroke, and the 100 Butterfly.
In high school, I also sang in auditioned ensembles for three years. My choir competed at the state festival 2/3 of those years.
I started coding for fun when I was in middle school and took 3 programming classes in high school. In high school, I learned Java and passed 3
programming certification exams. I took an Introduction to Networking class through SLCC and passed the TestOut Network Pro certification exam. Through SLCC, I also took an Introduction to Linux class
and have gained a lot of experience using Linux systems through home use and in my work at BYU Office of Information Technology.
In high school, I took many AP, concurrent, and early enrollment classes through SLCC and was able to graduate high school with my Associate's in General Studies.
During my junior and senior years of high school, I worked as an Instructor at Mathnasium, helping kids of all ages learn and get excited about math.
After I graduated high school, I started at BYU in the summer of 2019. I am studying Computer Science and am on track to graduate in 2023 after
returning from my mission. I am employed at BYU in the Office of Information Technology as a Computer Programmer.
I served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Houston, Texas from March 2020 to August 2021.
I learned Spanish and gained a great appreciation for hispanic culture while serving there! I'm currently back working at OIT as a Computer Programmer and
I recently accepted an offer to be a Software Engineering Intern at SimpleNexus in Summer 2022.
